2 months

1 month

1 month
The first month just flew by.
I still cant believe we have two kids

at 1 month Hazel
-sleeps A LOT
-Smiles all the time
(looked at me and smiled huge on 01-01-15)
-Does a cute little laugh/chuckle (usually when sleeping)
-Is a really good eater and eats every 2-3 hours
-LOVES to be swaddled and can't/won't sleep unless she is
-in newborn clothes
-Was in preemie diapers for a little while then newborn
-really strong, just like Haddie, was holding her head up right away
-Loves to be held
-Loves bath time

My parents and Kyle's parents were here for Christmas so we blessed Hazel the end of December so we could have all our family near.

It was so great to be surrounded with family and celebrate this new, precious, little baby girl.

We love her so much

Hazel Audrey Hawk

I feel like all the "hype" of blogging has slowly faded + I just don't have any extra time to sit and write.

SO much has happened since my last entry and since Hazel is now 5 months, I figured it was time to catch up.

My pregnancy with our new sweet babe was different in e v e r y single way than it was with Hadley.
Like I said in my last entry, I was sick, but it wasn't as bad as it was with Hadley. I never threw up, which is always a bonus! I never slept. I had horrible acid reflux. Pretty much everything I ate caused me to have constant acid in my throat.
I also get this "condition" called Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD) while pregnant. It's only present in some pregnant women.
"The symphysis pubis is a stiff joint that connects the two halves of your pelvis. This joint is strengthened by a dense network of tough, flexible tissues (ligaments). Your body produces a hormone called relaxin, which softens your ligaments in order to help your baby pass through your pelvis. Your pelvic joints move more during and just after pregnancy. This can cause inflammation and pain, and may lead to the condition symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD)." (http://www.babycentre.co.uk/a546492/pelvic-pain-spd#ixzz3LGqnjKXH)

In other words, it's completely and utterly painful and it gets worse with every pregnancy. It hurts to walk, go up/down stairs, run, roll over in bed, and even to get up off the couch/chair.
It was 100x worse this time around. It probably didn't help that this baby seemed a lot lower from the very beginning which caused more pressure on my pubic bone. I really don't know how I will be able to have more babies (while taking care of two others). It is really the worst pain!

I had to quit my job at the bakery the end of August (26 weeks) because
1. the SPD
2. There was a lot of lifting heavy items.
3. I was having braxton hicks contractions like crazy!
I was kind of bummed out, but pretty excited to stay home with my sweet Haddie. I also started watching my nephew so my brother and his wife can both work full time. It's nice being able to stay home but still make a little money.

This was a little bit of a rough pregnancy for me. I was really stressed out, the spd, not being able to sleep, the constant acid reflux, school, money, etc, etc. I'm sure you all can relate.
My due date was December 4th but we really wanted this sweet baby to come a week early during Thanksgiving Break, that way, Kyle (along with our siblings) would have school and work off so that they would be around to help with Hadley.
I went to my 36 week appointment with high hopes that some progress was being made. This was the first appointment that I would be getting checked & was trying really hard to not get my hopes up. Well, it went great and I got awesome news that I was 60% effaced and already dilated to a 2! I was ecstatic. My hopes of having this baby during Thanksgiving Break could actually happen.

Who knew that a week later I would be having a baby!

Sunday, November 9th I got my maternity pictures taken and was pretty uncomfortable, but that was nothing new. The same day I kept saying how it's not very common for your water to break and that it would never happen

well.....

Monday, November 10th around 5 a.m.,  I woke up to a huge gush.
I woke Kyle up and told him I either pee'd the bed or  my water just broke. He jumped out of bed and threw on his clothes ready to leave. I, on the other hand, was nervous to even move.
I  have heard that it keeps gushing as you stand up. I had Kyle grab a towel so I could go into the bathroom and clean myself up while he took the sheets off the bed. I called my sister and my brother that live in Logan so they could come over and watch Hadley while we went into Labor & Delivery to actually see if it was my water that broke. Kyle and I hurried and packed a hospital bag (thank goodness I made the list like the night before!). Surprisingly, I wasn't having any contractions, which is why I wasn't sure if it was my water that broke or not?!
We checked into Labor and Delivery around 5:45-6 a.m., they had me change, hooked me all up to the monitors and then did a test to see if it was actually my water that broke. Sure enough, it was! I couldn't believe that we were going to have our baby that day.
We called our parents/siblings to tell them what was going on. I couldn't get a hold of my parents and was worried that I was going to have a baby before they even knew I was in labor.

My sister and her husband came to the hospital once Hadley woke up. I was missing my sweet Haddie Shay so I was happy to see her before the baby actually came and explain to her what was happening. Kyle's brother also came to the hospital. We all hung out for a couple hours but we figured I would be in labor for quite a while (like I was with Hadley) so we told everyone to go do whatever they needed to do and we would keep them updated. Right after everyone left (about 10am), they checked me again and I was a 10! I went from a 6 to a 10 in one hour!! The nurse had me push and baby girl started crowning. My doctor wasn't even there yet! They called her and she came running in about 15 minutes later (thank goodness her office was just down stairs). She threw on all her gear and I only pushed twice and at 10:39 a.m. Miss Hazel Audrey Hawk made her grand appearance screaming at the top of her lungs!

She weighed 5lbs. 15oz. and was 18 1/2 in. long
(and had a little tooth bud)

It was seriously the easiest/best labor ever! I was up walking around, going to the bathroom myself, etc about an hour after I had Hazel. I also had hardly any bleeding (sorry, TMI, but so awesome) I would birth babies all day long if I knew it was going to be like that every time.
Because Hazel was born almost a month early (and because I was strep B positive), she had to go to the NICU to be monitored.
Our siblings and extended family really stepped up to help us since this was a bit of a surprise. My aunt came up, cleaned my house, did my laundry, made me freezer meals to last a month, took care of Haddie, bought me groceries... I was so overwhelmed with gratitude that I broke down in the hospital.
I'm so grateful that we have some family close since my parents & in-laws live out-of-state. It was such a relief to not have to worry about what to do with Haddie while I was stuck in the hospital.

I was hoping to go home the day after I had Hazel but again, because she was early, they wanted to monitor her for 48 hours.

Wednesday, Novemer 12th we all got to go home. Kyle had to take Hadley to her appointment down at Primary Children's. We would have rescheduled, but we made the appointment 3 months prior. I was pretty bummed to go home and be alone but I got to catch up on some sleep and cuddle my sweet new babe.

When they got home we finally got to be our family of 4. The first few days were rough and we were both pretty sleep deprived but our sweet Hazey girl is the best and we are so happy she's here.

At 5 days old she weighed 5lbs 9oz but has been a GREAT eater and has stayed right on track with her weight.

Hadley is 2!!

Our lives have been insanly busy. Blogging is the last thing on my to-do list.
In September, my sweet baby turned two!
I cannot come to terms that she is already two. It makes me so sad that she is growing up so fast.

Because this would be Hadley's last birthday as an only child, we wanted to make it special.
We decorated the house in pink and purple streamers, balloons, a Happy Birthday banner and had a small pile of presents waiting for her when she woke up.

We also had a giant doughnut with candles in it.

She loved it so much, she is still asking for another one.

I took her to get a pedicure and we went to dinner when daddy got home.

The next day we had her aunts and uncles come over for cupcakes and ice cream.

She sure is loved

Mommy and Daddy love you Hadley Shay! Thank you for making us so happy!

Wow, I  am so far behind in blogging. I have all these drafts saved, I just don't seem to publish them.
like I JUST published Miss Hadley's 18 months post...I'm only 4 months behind!

In those 4 months, Hadley has learned a ton of new words and we can pretty much have full on conversations. She understands everything we tell her, which is nice, but we are also getting to that "terrible two" stage and so we spend a lot of time trying to sit her down and explain things to her instead of yelling. She seems to do better when we look her in the eyes and tell her she can't do something. She is so incredibly smart! It amazes me every day that she's mine and I strive to be a good mommy and refrain from raising my voice. We have our days but she is the best little girl.

Just a few days after Hadley's 18 month "birthday", we found out that we are expecting baby #2.
We had been trying so it wasn't too much of a surprise but we are so excited!
We have been trying to explain to Haddie that there is a baby in mommy's tummy and we ask her if she wants a baby, if she wants to give the baby a hug/kiss, sing songs to the baby, etc. She does pretty well for the most part and has started to do it on her own.
We haven't been around too many little babies to kind of "prepare" her for it, but when she is around them she loves them to pieces. She never wants to give them back and she is constantly giving them kisses or saying "Aww, cute!". She is the sweetest and it makes me even more excited to see her be a big sister!

So far, this pregnancy has been completely different than when I was pregnant with Hadley.
I did get morning sickness around 8 weeks or so and I started feeling a little normal again around 17-18 weeks but still have my moments when I feel gross. But for the record, I haven't thrown up! yipee!

I don't sleep. ever.
but I am  a l w a y s  tired.

It's so weird, I will wake up in the middle of the night and just be wide awake..for like 2 hours. It's actually quite annoying, especially because Haddie STILL doesn't sleep through the night.
I haven't gained as much weight..my theory is because, with Hadley, I had a job where I sat down all day and now I am constantly moving around at work or I'm chasing Hadley around since she doesn't seem to hold still for more than 2 seconds. But the SPD has come back with this pregnancy (like I was warned), It is painful but life doesn't stop so I just push through it for the most part.

I do have some heartburn/acid reflux, not as bad as I did with Haddie but it still sucks.

I haven't had too many weird cravings.. Peach rings (the candy), Cranberry Limeades from Sonic, FatBoys, Potatoes (of any sort-mashed, baked, fries, etc)..other than that, nothing else comes to mind.

We find out the gender of this sweet babe tomorrow and I am a little nervous.
Not sure why?
With Hadley, I knew she was a girl, but with this one...I don't have the slightest idea.

Guess that's what my next post will be about ;)

Life has been pretty crazy around our parts lately, hence the lack of blogging.
The really HUGE lack of blogging.

I know I say it every time, but I just cannot believe how fast the time has gone.

Hadley is so smart. She started talking around 10-12months and hasn't stopped!
She can pretty much say anything you ask her to and she pronounces it almost perfectly.

Hadley loves to be outside. She loves to run, jump, & go on walks.
She has to hold my hand all. the. time. Especially in the car.

In January, Hadley got really sick...after LOTS of visits to the doctor, tests, stool samples, etc. We found out the our poor baby has an infection called "C-diff". Long-story-short, all the good bacteria in her intestines got washed away when she got croup shortly after Christmas which caused another bacteria to overtake her little body..and that caused Hadley to get "c-diff". So my sweet girl has had diarrhea for 3 months. Yes, THREE! I can't tell you how many diapers, diaper cream, wipes, medicine, etc we have gone through. Oh, and we have had to completely cut dairy out of her diet. She can only drink Almond Milk (dairy, soy and gluten free) and Pedilyte. It's been a rough few months. After my employers and co-workers were not willing to help me AT ALL when trying to get people to cover my shifts, so I could take care of my sick daughter, I quit my job and have been able to stay home with Hadley for two months and just started my new job yesterday.

Hadley is getting better (SLOWLY) and has gained most of her weight back..that's one reason why I felt like I could go back to work, but I am not convinced that the bad bacteria is completely out of her system so keep your fingers crossed that when we go in for her appointment today that we will get good news.

This little lady is my whole world and she amazes me every day. I love to watch her learn new things every day. She is so smart and such an independent little girl.

ONE!

I've been pretty emotional the past couple months leading up to my BABY's 1st Birthday!
Examples:
-Walking through target, I passed a newborn outfit and I couldn't keep the tears from filling up my eyes.
-Packing away her clothes that no longer fit. It's so hard to think we will be shopping in the toddler section instead of the baby section.
-Holding new born babies
-Looking at the pictures of when I had Hadley, when we brought her home and our first few months with her.
-Watching her sleep
The list could go on and on.
I have had a hard time coping with the fact that my baby is not so much a baby anymore.

It's unbelievable how fast the time has gone. Really, it's quite hard for me to grasp the idea it was a year ago that I had my sweet babe, but it truly feels like yesterday.

I'm choking back tears writing this.
Why?
I shouldn't be sad, right?

Miss H. is in just a FUN stage right now.
Every day is an adventure. She makes us laugh constantly.
She is so smart. She loves to observe, watch and then copy people.

I never knew I could ever feel this much love for one person.

She is by far the GREATEST miracle that Kyle and I have received.
Being a mom is such a blessing. I love it.
We have our hard days, but I wouldn't change it for anything.

Hadley's Achievements:

Weight: 22lbs 11oz.
Height: 30 in.
-Hadley's vocabulary has gotten so much better. She can pronounce words almost perfectly. She can say: Mom/Mama, Dad/Dada, Papa (grandpa), "DaNaw" (grandma), Hello, Hi, Hot, Juice, Shoe, uh-oh, Tickle, Go, "Nine-o" (Rhino), Tiger, Dog, "KanKoo" (thank you), "cok" (sock), "do" (boo), "Kark" (Uncle Mark), any many more.
-She has to hold your hand when we got for walks.
-She is in 12-18 month clothes. No more baby clothes :(
-Still takes 1-2 naps every day
-Her 5th tooth popped thru on September 7, 2013 (the one next to her top right tooth)
-Sticks almost everything in her mouth..still!
-Throws things off her highchair and then says "uh-oh"
-Fake Laughs
-Loves the bathroom and everything BAD in it. Toilet, plunger, garbage, toilet paper.
-Says Hi to EVERYONE. Literally. everywhere we go.
-Loves attention from people
-LOVES to dance. She dances by herself but always loves to be held and dance. She now dances in circles, dances with her hands up, shakes her head, and does this thing where she grabs her belly or her legs and will do what looks like squats. It's so funny
-She has learned how to open drawers and cabinet doors.
-She knows how to work a click pen
-She now throws fits! If she doesn't get her way she will fall down on the floor & cry, hit her face or bite her hand.
-We took our first family vacation to St. George. We had a BLAST. It was a much needed get-a-way.
-Hadley met her new friend, Austyn Marie. Hadley has never been around a new baby before, but she did really well and wanted to keep looking at her.
-Hadley still has to snuggle to fall asleep. Every once and a while she will fall asleep on her own, but not very often.
-She still isn't sleeping through the night. I know a big part has to do with not being strong enough to let her just cry, and that she is in our bedroom due to the fact that my sister is staying with us in the "nursery".
-Hadley also still has to take a bottle in the middle of the night so I'm convinced that's the main reason why she doesn't sleep through the night. We have tried to let her cry but she just wakes up and stays awake for an hour or so.
-Hadley loves to feed herself. She rarely lets us feed her anymore. She has gotten pretty good sticking items on her fork and eating them.
-If I fake cry, Hadley gives me hugs and kisses until  I am all better.
-Covers her face with her hands and says "do" (boo)
-Blows Kisses
-She now gives closed mouth kisses
-She is a social butterfly. loves other kids, other people, animals, etc. She isn't afraid of anything, which I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing?!
-She knows how to clean her ears with a Qtip (don't worry, we watch her and don't let her stick it IN her ear).
-She loves make up and lip stick/gloss. I bought a cheap blush brush and gave it to her and she is always putting on her make up.
-LOVES books. She is always grabbing our hands and sticking books in them or crawls on our laps and puts the books in our hands to read. Lets hope her love of books stays with her.
